How do I connect my Garmin watch to Propulsion?

Updated October 28, 2026

Garmin is a direct Propulsion integration. No intermediary app needed: your data flows from Garmin Connect straight into Propulsion.

Three minutes, once.

Connecting

1. Open activity tracking

In the Propulsion app, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking.

2. Authorize

Tap Connect next to Garmin. You'll be sent to Garmin Connect: sign in, leave every permission turned on, then accept.

3. Wait for the first import

Your last 30 days of activity are imported automatically. It takes a few minutes.

Connect only one source at a time: if another source was already connected (including Google Fit or Health Connect), disconnect it first.

What gets shared

Propulsion receives your daily steps, active minutes, recorded activities and heart rate. Sleep and Body Battery stay in Garmin Connect.

Your activities first arrive in Garmin Connect, then in Propulsion the next time you open the app.

For now, your data syncs when you open Propulsion. Open the app at least once a day, and before a challenge ends, so all your activity counts.

Compatible devices

Any Garmin that syncs with Garmin Connect: Forerunner, Fenix, Venu, Vívoactive, Vivofit, Epix, Instinct, and others. It works on iPhone and Android alike.

Garmin and Health Connect (Android)

Garmin Connect can also send your data to Health Connect (Android 14 and up) from its settings. The direct Garmin connection is still the recommended method.

Don't use both: if Garmin is connected directly in Propulsion, don't also connect Health Connect with Garmin as a source. See Health Connect with Propulsion.

Check permissions

Garmin lets you choose which data Propulsion can receive. A permission that is turned off shows no error message: the data simply never arrives.

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.
  2. Tap More (☰), then Settings.
  3. Tap Connected Apps, then Propulsion Sport.
  4. Turn on every permission, especially activities and daily health stats (steps, active minutes).
  5. Sync your watch in Garmin Connect, then open Propulsion.

Your changes apply at the next sync, with no need to reconnect Garmin.

Propulsion Sport isn't in the list? The connection is no longer active. Reconnect Garmin in Propulsion (Activity tracking) and leave every permission turned on on Garmin's screen.

For other possible causes, see My device is connected but I don't see any data: what should I do?.

If nothing shows up

First, make sure your watch has synced with Garmin Connect: open the Garmin Connect app and check that your workout is there. If it isn't in Garmin Connect, it can't reach Propulsion.

Steps on the Garmin Connect home screen, but nothing in Propulsion? Tap the Steps card to open the day's details. If the details show "No Steps data" or 0, Garmin hasn't recorded your steps yet: the number on the home screen only comes from your watch, and Propulsion only receives what Garmin has recorded. Sync your watch (the arrows at the top of the home screen), wait a few minutes for the details to fill in, then reopen Propulsion. No need to reconnect Garmin in this case: it won't change anything.

Next, check the permissions: More → Settings → Connected Apps → Propulsion Sport (see above).

Still nothing after 30 minutes, even after reopening Propulsion, while the day's details do show your steps in Garmin Connect? Disconnect and reconnect the integration in Propulsion.
