7,821 km. One organization. Coast to coast.

For 21 days in June, your entire organization sets out on the most iconic journey in Canada: Halifax to Vancouver. Every kilometre walked, run, or cycled by every employee moves the collective marker westward across the map. The goal: cross the country together.

This isn’t a race between teams — it’s a shared expedition. The marketing department in Montreal and the operations team in Toronto contribute to the same kilometre total. When the marker reaches Winnipeg, everyone celebrates. When it crosses the Rockies, the energy is electric. And when it arrives in Vancouver, the entire organization shares the accomplishment.

How it works

Your organization sets a collective kilometre goal calibrated to your team size. Every employee logs their daily kilometres through the Propulsion app — walking, running, or cycling. The dashboard displays a real-time map showing exactly where the organization has reached on the cross-Canada route. Major cities along the way become natural milestones that create moments of celebration.

Why distance in June?

June is the start of the great Canadian outdoor season. The days are the longest of the year, the weather opens up coast to coast, and people naturally gravitate toward outdoor activity. Running trails, cycling paths, evening walks in the neighbourhood — June is when distance accumulates effortlessly. It’s also early enough in summer that most employees are still at work and engaged, before the July-August vacation exodus.

The map effect

The real-time map is the magic of this challenge. Watching the collective marker move from Halifax through Moncton, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, and finally through the Rockies to Vancouver — it creates a narrative that no other challenge format can match. Employees start looking up facts about the cities they’re passing through. Conversations happen: “We just crossed into Manitoba — only 2,800 km to Vancouver!”

For organizations with offices across Canada, there’s an added layer: employees cheer when the marker passes through their city. It becomes personal.

Every kilometre counts

A 2 km walk to the coffee shop. A 10 km bike commute. A 5 km evening run. A 15 km Saturday morning hike. In June, these kilometres add up faster than anyone expects. The beauty of the collective format is that no individual needs to be an endurance athlete — it’s the sum of hundreds of small daily choices for active mobility that carries the organization across the country.

Coast to coast, together

At the end of the challenge, the results tell a powerful story: a real distance covered, a country crossed, and an organization that proved it could achieve something extraordinary through the simple act of moving together. That’s a story worth telling at the next town hall.
