Corporate wellness challenge
๐๏ธ Summit Challenge: Everest
Can your organization summit Everest? Over 21 days, accumulate steps to reach the top of the world. Base camp, south ridge, summit โ every milestone cleared brings your team closer to the roof of the planet.
Why this challenge works
- Epic narrative that motivates and creates a sense of achievement
- Visible milestone progression (camps) that sustains engagement
- Unifying collective goal โ zero losers, 100% inclusive
- Accessible to everyone โ every step counts, no athlete required
- Ideal timing with January resolutions
Climb the roof of the world, one step at a time
From January 5 to 25, every employee in your organization contributes to the most iconic ascent on the planet. Everest. 8,849 metres. No crampons or oxygen tanks needed โ just your daily steps.
It's the perfect challenge to kick off the year. January resolutions are still fresh, the energy of renewal is everywhere. Channel it into a collective goal that will unite your organization from the very first weeks.
Climbing in stages
Like a real expedition, progress happens through altitude camps. Each milestone unlocked reveals the next and gives the entire organization a concrete sense of achievement. Base camp, icefall, Lhotse face, south col... all the way to the summit.
These stages create natural moments of celebration. When Camp 2 is reached, everyone knows. When the South Col is cleared, excitement builds. The summit becomes a shared goal for every single employee.
Why steps?
In January, the weather doesn't always lend itself to running or cycling. But walking happens everywhere: at the office, in hallways, in the parking lot, at home. Steps are the most inclusive and accessible metric โ every employee can contribute, regardless of their fitness level.
The employee who takes 3,000 steps contributes just as much to the momentum as the one who takes 12,000. The goal is collective: it's the sum of everyone's effort that moves the organization toward the summit.
The collective effect
The real-time dashboard shows where the organization stands on the mountain. Hallway conversations change: "We've reached Camp 3, we only need 200,000 more steps to reach the South Col!" That's the Propulsion effect.
Nobody is left behind. Every step counts. Every lunch walk, every staircase taken instead of the elevator, every evening stroll brings everyone closer to the summit together.
Example activities
- Walk during lunch break instead of sitting
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- 20-minute morning walk before work
- Walking meeting with a colleague
- Family walk after dinner
