How do I use Oura Ring with Propulsion?

Updated October 28, 2026

Your Oura Ring doesn't connect to Propulsion directly. On iPhone, your data goes through Apple Health. On Android, it goes through Health Connect.

On iPhone

  1. In the Oura app, tap the menu, then Settings > Data sharing > Apple Health, then tap Connect to Health. If needed, see Oura's official help.
  2. In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Apple Health, then allow Propulsion to read steps and workouts.

On Android

Sharing with Health Connect works with the Oura Ring Gen2, and with Gen3 or newer if you have an Oura membership.

  1. In the Oura app, tap the menu at the top left, then Settings > Data Sharing > Health Connect. Allow sharing of steps and workouts.
  2. In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Health Connect, then allow Propulsion to read your steps and workouts.
  3. Check that your Oura steps reach Health Connect: in Health Connect, open your activity data and look at today's steps.

Open both the Oura app and Propulsion at least once a day: Oura sends your data to Health Connect when its app is open.

On Android 14 and up, Health Connect is built into the phone: search for "Health Connect" in your phone's Settings. On Android 13 and below, install the Health Connect app from the Play Store, then open it. Full details: Health Connect on Android.

Your phone may also count your steps. To avoid duplicates, put Oura first in the Health Connect source order: see how.

A workout is missing? Tap the + button at the bottom right of the Propulsion screen (see how).

What gets shared

Oura sends your steps and workouts to Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), and Propulsion reads them from there. Connect only one source at a time to avoid duplicates.

For now, your data syncs when you open Propulsion. Open the app at least once a day, and before a challenge ends, so all your activity counts.

If nothing shows up

  1. Open the Oura app so it can sync your data.
  2. Check that your data shows up in Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).
  3. Check that Propulsion is allowed to read your data. On iPhone, in Apple Health. On Android, in Health Connect, open the app permissions, choose Propulsion and allow steps and workouts (exercise).
  4. Reopen Propulsion.

Still nothing? See Connected but no data.
