Help Center / Tracking & Syncing
How do I use Polar with Propulsion?
Polar doesn't connect to Propulsion directly. On iPhone, your data goes through Apple Health. On Android, it goes through Health Connect.
On iPhone
- In the Polar Flow app, open More > General settings, turn on Apple Health, then allow all categories. If needed, see Polar's official help.
- In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Apple Health, then allow Propulsion to read steps and workouts.
On Android
- In the Polar Flow app, open the general settings, turn on Health Connect, choose the data to share, including steps and workouts, then tap Allow. To change your choices later, use Manage permissions.
- In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Health Connect, then allow Propulsion to read your steps and workouts.
- Check that your Polar steps reach Health Connect: in Health Connect, open your activity data and look at today's steps.
On Android 14 and up, Health Connect is built into the phone: search for "Health Connect" in your phone's Settings. On Android 13 and below, install the Health Connect app from the Play Store, then open it. Full details: Health Connect on Android.
Your phone may also count your steps. To avoid duplicates, put Polar Flow first in the Health Connect source order: see how.
A workout is missing? Tap the + button at the bottom right of the Propulsion screen (see how).
What gets shared
Polar sends your steps and workouts to Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), and Propulsion reads them from there. Connect only one source at a time to avoid duplicates.
For now, your data syncs when you open Propulsion. Open the app at least once a day, and before a challenge ends, so all your activity counts.
If nothing shows up
- Open the Polar app so it can sync your data.
- Check that your data shows up in Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).
- Check that Propulsion is allowed to read your data. On iPhone, in Apple Health. On Android, in Health Connect, open the app permissions, choose Propulsion and allow steps and workouts (exercise).
- Reopen Propulsion.
Still nothing? See Connected but no data.
