How do I use Runkeeper with Propulsion?

Updated October 28, 2026

Runkeeper doesn't connect to Propulsion directly. On iPhone, your data goes through Apple Health.

On iPhone

  1. In the Runkeeper app settings, turn on sharing with Apple Health. If needed, see Runkeeper's official help.
  2. In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Apple Health, then allow Propulsion to read steps and workouts.

On Android

On Android, your Runkeeper workouts can reach Propulsion through Health Connect if Runkeeper writes them to Health Connect. This isn't confirmed yet for Runkeeper. To check, in Health Connect, open your activity data and see whether Runkeeper shows up as a source. If Runkeeper isn't there, see what to do.

Connect Health Connect in Propulsion and allow it to read your steps and workouts: see how. On a Samsung phone, you can also connect Samsung Health for your steps. A workout doesn't come through? Tap the + button at the bottom right of the Propulsion screen (see how).

What gets shared

Runkeeper sends your walks, runs and bike rides to Apple Health, and Propulsion reads them from there. On Android, Propulsion can read them from Health Connect if Runkeeper writes them there. Runkeeper doesn't send your steps. Connect only one source at a time to avoid duplicates.

Your steps come from your main source: Apple Health, Health Connect, Samsung Health or Garmin (see how to get your steps counted). A workout that wasn't captured can be added with the + button at the bottom right of the Propulsion screen.

For now, your data syncs when you open Propulsion. Open the app at least once a day, and before a challenge ends, so all your activity counts.

If nothing shows up

  1. Open the Runkeeper app so it can sync your data.
  2. Check that your data shows up in Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).
  3. Check that Propulsion is allowed to read your data. On iPhone, in Apple Health. On Android, in Health Connect, open the app permissions, choose Propulsion and allow steps and workouts (exercise).
  4. Reopen Propulsion.
