My app doesn't show up in Health Connect: what should I do?

Updated October 28, 2026

For Propulsion to receive your steps through Health Connect, your watch's app must write your steps to Health Connect. Not every app does. Here is how to check, and what to do if yours isn't there.

How to tell if an app writes your steps

  1. Open Health Connect. On Android 14 and later, search for "Health Connect" in your phone's Settings search. On Android 13 and earlier, open the Health Connect app.
  2. In Health Connect, open your activity data and look at today's steps.
  3. Look at which apps put steps there.

Your app isn't there? First check that sharing to Health Connect is turned on in your watch app's settings, then open that app so it syncs.

Apps that work through Health Connect

  • Google Health (formerly Fitbit) (Fitbit watches, Fitbit Air, Pixel Watch): see the Google Health article
  • Polar Flow: see the Polar article
  • Oura: see the Oura article
  • Zepp (Amazfit)
  • Mi Fitness (Xiaomi)
  • COROS
  • Withings
  • WHOOP: your data sometimes arrives with a delay.
  • Nike Run Club, Peloton, AllTrails, Wahoo and adidas Running: mostly workouts; your steps come from your phone or your watch.
  • Strava: workouts only, not your steps. Turn on sharing in Strava: tap You, then the gear, the apps and devices management option, and Health Connect.
  • Garmin Connect and Samsung Health: they also work through Health Connect, but the direct connection is recommended (Samsung Health, Garmin).

Apps to be confirmed

These apps may work if they write your steps to Health Connect. In the app's settings, look for the Health Connect option and turn it on, then check with the steps above.

  • Suunto, VeryFit, Runkeeper, Mobvoi (TicWatch), OHealth (OnePlus) and Ultrahuman

Apps that don't work

  • Huawei Health: doesn't write to Health Connect.

How to still get your steps counted

  • Let your phone count. On Android 14 and later, the phone counts your steps in Health Connect as soon as Propulsion is allowed to read steps. Keep it with you. See how to connect Health Connect
  • Garmin or Samsung? Use the direct connection in Propulsion.
  • For your workouts, tap Add an activity on the Propulsion home screen. See how to log an activity
