How do I use WHOOP with Propulsion?
WHOOP doesn't connect to Propulsion directly. On iPhone, your workouts go through Apple Health, except with WHOOP 5.0. On Android, your data goes through Health Connect.
On iPhone
- In the WHOOP app settings, turn on sharing with Apple Health. If needed, see WHOOP's official help.
- In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Apple Health, then allow Propulsion to read steps and workouts.
Wearing a WHOOP 5.0? This sharing doesn't work with Propulsion. Add your workouts with the + button at the bottom right of the Propulsion screen instead (see how).
On Android
WHOOP works with Propulsion on Android through Health Connect. Your steps and your workouts come into Propulsion. Your WHOOP data may arrive with a delay.
- In the WHOOP app settings, look for the Health Connect option and turn it on. Allow sharing of steps and workouts.
- In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Health Connect, then allow Propulsion to read your steps and workouts.
- To check, in Health Connect, open your activity data: WHOOP should show up as a source for your steps and workouts.
On Android 14 and up, Health Connect is built into the phone: search for "Health Connect" in your phone's Settings. On Android 13 and below, install the Health Connect app from the Play Store, then open it. If both WHOOP and your phone count your steps, put WHOOP first in the source order (see how).
WHOOP doesn't show up in Health Connect? Your phone can count your steps itself through Health Connect (Android 14 and up): connect Health Connect in Propulsion the same way (see how). On a Samsung phone, you can also connect Samsung Health. See also what to do if an app is missing from Health Connect.
A workout doesn't come through Health Connect? Tap the + button at the bottom right of the Propulsion screen (see how).
What gets shared
On iPhone, WHOOP sends your workouts to Apple Health, and Propulsion reads them from there. On iPhone, your steps don't come from WHOOP. On Android, WHOOP writes your steps and workouts to Health Connect, sometimes with a delay, and Propulsion reads them from there. Connect only one source at a time to avoid duplicates.
For now, your data syncs when you open Propulsion. Open the app at least once a day, and before a challenge ends, so all your activity counts.
If nothing shows up
- Open the WHOOP app so it can sync your data.
- Check that your data shows up in Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).
- Check that Propulsion is allowed to read your data. On iPhone, in Apple Health. On Android, in Health Connect, open the app permissions, choose Propulsion and allow steps and workouts (exercise).
- Reopen Propulsion.
