Android: which apps and watches work with Propulsion?

Updated October 5, 2026

Updated October 5, 2026

On Android, Propulsion gets your steps through Samsung Health, Google Health (Fitbit connector) or Garmin. Google Fit shuts down in December 2026 and no longer accepts new connections.

What works

  • Samsung Galaxy phone and Galaxy Watch, through Samsung Health
  • Other Android phone (Pixel, Motorola, etc.), through the Google Health app and Propulsion's Fitbit connector, even without a Fitbit watch
  • Fitbit and Google Pixel Watch, through Fitbit
  • Garmin watches, through Garmin

What does not work for the moment

  • Google Fit: new connections are blocked ("This app is blocked" message). See what to do
  • Apps that went through Google Fit, such as Strava or Nike Run Club
  • Other brands, including Oura, WHOOP, Polar, Coros, Suunto, Withings, Amazfit, Wahoo, Huawei, AllTrails, Runkeeper, Peloton and Zwift

For workouts that weren't captured, tap Add an activity on the home screen (see how). Steps can't be added manually.

What about the phone's pedometer?

On Android, the pedometer only counts your steps while Propulsion is open, and only if you accepted the Physical activity permission. Many of your steps may therefore not be counted: connect Samsung Health or Google Health instead.

How to connect a source

  1. In the Propulsion app, tap your avatar at the top left.
  2. Tap Settings (the gear at the top right).
  3. Open Activity tracking.
  4. Tap Connect next to the provider of your choice.

One source at a time. Detailed steps by phone are in How do I get my steps counted in Propulsion?
