Google Fit is blocked: how do I connect my steps to Propulsion?

Updated October 5, 2026

Updated October 5, 2026

Google is shutting down Google Fit on December 31, 2026, and new connections are currently blocked. If you see the message "This app is blocked" when you try to connect Google Fit, you did nothing wrong. Use one of the methods below instead.

On a Samsung Galaxy: Samsung Health

  1. Open Samsung Health (already installed on your phone), finish the setup and accept the Physical activity permission.
  2. Check that your steps show up in Samsung Health.
  3. In Propulsion, tap your avatar at the top left, then Settings (the gear at the top right), then Activity tracking. Tap Connect next to Samsung Health and allow every data type.

On another Android (Pixel, Motorola, etc.): Google Health

  1. Download Google Health from the Play Store and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Accept the Physical activity permission and check that your steps show up in Google Health.
  3. In Propulsion, open Activity tracking and choose Fitbit. This is normal, even without a Fitbit watch: this connector reads your Google Health data.
  4. Sign in with the same Google account and check every data category.

Is Google Fit already connected for you?

Your Google Fit connection keeps working for now: nothing to do right away. Still, plan to switch to Samsung Health or Google Health before December 31, 2026. Disconnect Google Fit first, then connect the new source: one source at a time, to avoid duplicates. If you can, switch between two challenges, since changing your source can affect your data from the last 7 days (see how to change your source).

Apps that went through Google Fit

On Android, apps like Strava or Nike Run Club sent their data to Google Fit. For a new connection, they can therefore no longer reach Propulsion. For your workouts, tap Add an activity on the home screen (see how). Steps can't be added manually.
